The Research Promotion Cell of DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad organised a session on the topic “Intellectual Property Rights – Role in Economic Growth” on 10th June, 2022, for the first year students of MBA and MCA. The speaker of the day was Ms. Neha Gupta, Practicing Advocate and Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. She highlighted the importance of Intellectual Property for businesses and why it needs to be protected. She said that Intellectual Property Rights are an important tool for consumer protection as they help in identifying the quality of a product. She said that Intellectual property protection is critical to fostering innovation. Without protection of ideas, businesses and individuals would not reap the full benefits of their inventions and would focus less on research and development. Similarly, artists would not be fully compensated for their creations and cultural vitality would suffer as a result. Protecting our Intellectual Property ensures material reward for intellectual property, availability of original products for consumers and for economic growth and advancement in technology sector. The Research Promotion cell in association with Department of Business Studies, DAV Institute of Management and Froyo Technologies conducted Two Day workshop entitled “Tools and Techniques for Elementary Data Analysis” on 26th & 27th May 2022 for Post Graduate Students. The speakers of workshop were Dr. Sushma Rani, Associate Professor, Hansraj College, University of Delhi, Mr. Rajinder Kumar, CTO, Froyo Technologies, Dr. Sunita Bishnoi, Associate Professor, DAV Institute of Management and Dr. Gurjeet Kaur, Assistant Professor, DAV Institute of Management. The breakthrough of technology in the knowledge driven areas and sectors necessitates the need for a rigorous scientific research orientation. The workshop was designed to equip the participants with tools and techniques of research. The programme covered fundamental concepts of commonly used research techniques in academic research and also included practical sessions to give hands on experience on Software for Data Analysis to the participants. More than 50 participants from various colleges attended the workshop which included students from DAV Institute of Management, DAV Centenary College, K L Mehta College, NGF College of Engineering & Technology and Institute of Management & Technology, Faridabad. Dr. Saurabh Mittal was the eminent speaker of the Webinar. He is faculty in Business Analytics & IT, Fortune Institute of International business, New Delhi. Dr. Satish Ahuja, Principal Director, said that choosing the right topic of research and an appropriate journal is very important to ensure quality research in any field. Dr. Mittal elaborated in detail the prerequisites of a good research paper and what we can do to publish the paper in a good journal. He said that quality research paves the way for development of a nation and academicians plays a pivotal role in the field of research. He also discussed the steps to find out the suitable journal. The Research Promotion Cell of DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad, organized an E Conference on the Topic “Tapping 21st Century Skill Requirements in Technical Education on 21stJanuary, 2022. The conference had a galaxy of erudite speakers Prof. Dinesh Kumar (Vice Chancellor of Gurugram University), Prof. Nasib Singh Gill (HOD, Dept. of CSA, MDU Rohtak), Prof. Raj Kumar (Dean, Faculty of Management Science, MDU, Rohtak) and Mr. Rajiv Chawla (Chairman, IamSME of India and Member, Governing Body, DAVIM, Faridabad). Dr. Satish Ahuja, Principal Director, welcomed all the guests and thanked them for being a part of this conference. Speakers discussed the current state of education and the demands of the modern world, then underlined the idea that skill is an important element of education and that educational institutions should teach students skills in order to make them employable. They emphasised that technology will not replace people, but those who are comfortable with technology will replace those who are not. Students must be made to think critically. Setting the subject syllabus and exam paper should be done on a realistic basis. The speakers also said that students' social and behavioral abilities are very important in their lives. Collaboration between academia and industry is essential. The Research Promotion Cell of DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad, organised a workshop on “Intellectual Property Rights – Laws & Procedures” on 16th November, 2021 for the students of MBA, MCA, BBA (BE) and B Sc. Honours Computer Science. The speaker of the session was CA Rishu Gupta, a fellow member of ICAI and practicing in the field of Intellectual Property Rights (Trademarks, Patents, Copyrights and Designs in the field of Intellectual Property Rights for big corporate, MSME's and multinational brands in India and abroad. He explained the concept of IPR, its importance and applications to the students along with the laws and procedures involved in enforcing all types of Intellectual Property Rights including Patents, Copyrights, Trademarks, Designs and Geographical Indications. The students had many queries regarding trademarks and patents which were aptly taken up by the speaker. DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad, organised a two-day lecture series by Dr. Vivek Singh Tomar (Assistant Professor, IMT Ghaziabad, UP), on Data Analysis for Effective Research on 28th and 29th September, 2020 from 2:30 to 4:00 pm. The breakthrough of technology in the knowledge driven areas and sectors necessitates the need for a rigorous scientific research orientation. Realizing, this need of the hour, Research Promotion Cell of DAVIM, designed a Course to equip the participants with tools and techniques of research. The programme covered fundamental concepts of commonly used research techniques so that faculty members and research scholars become equipped to write quality research papers. The resource person covered basic and theoretical concepts of commonly used research techniques and concentrated on the Fundamentals of Research and Introduction to SPSS, data Entry into SPSS, Measure of Descriptive, Graphs and Charts, Parametric and Non Parametric Hypothesis Testing, Chi – square Test and Correlation. The program was attended by faculty members, research scholars and students of Final Year (UG & PG level) who were given hands on experience on Software for Data Analysis. Dr. Nidhi Turan was the moderator for both the days, who started the session by introducing the speaker. Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, Principal Director, DAVIM, gave the welcome address and emphasised upon the importance of genuine research which is useful for the industry and the nation as a whole. A workshop on “Digital Marketing” was organized under the Research and Development Cell by its member, Dr.Anamika Bhargava and Ms. Priti Bali on 8th February 2019. Mr.Shshank Shram and Mr.Pratik Sharma From Croma Campus Noida were the resource speaker, wherein they lectured the students on the upcoming need of digital marketing and related technologies are helping in online promotion and sales of products . They also told about the job opportunities in the related fields .
The students of M.C.A ,B.C.A ,B.Sc and B.CAM interacted well with the speakers. A workshop on “Information Security” was organized under the Research and Development Cell by its member, Dr.Anamika Bhargava and Ms. Poja Kaul on 8th February 2017. Ms. Neha Bajpai Technical Officer at Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC), Noida was the Chief Speaker, wherein she lectured the students on the growing need of learning about Information Security to safeguard their documents, personal and professional, from the prevalent hackers.
Ms Priyanka Jain a Project Engineer in CDAC and Ms. Ashu Technical Officer in CDAC accompanied her. The students of M.C.A interacted well with the speaker. And keeping in mind the interest of their zestful students, the team of Research and Development Cell , of the Institute, Dr. Anamika Bhargava, Ms. Preeeti Bali and Ms. Pooja Kaul, organized a Digital India workshop in collaboration with National-E Governance Division Ministry of Electronics and Information technology, Government of India, on 5th November 2016.
DAVIM took ahead the revolutionizing innovative idea of Digital India, initiated by, our honorable Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi. Dr. Hanif Qureshi, Commissioner of Police, Faridabad, was the Chief Guest, accompanied by Mr. Aman Goel, BJP Youth leader, Mr. Manjeet Nath, the representative of National-e-Governance Division and the guest of honour Dr. N.P. Singh, Professor, MDI Gurgoan and Shri Sant Gopal Gupta, Social Worker. They all postulated that Digital India and its aligned activities would give staggering growth to the E-Governance of the country. Mr. Manjeet Nath, the representative of National-e-Governance Division, “also conducted Digital India Quiz”.

Hence, following the custom of DAV’s, in initiating the projects of social importance and spreading general awareness regarding them, one of the pioneer institutes of DAVCMC, DAV Institute of Management Faridabad, under the aegis of the Head of the Institute Dr. Neelam Gulati, organized an international conference on technology for sustainability – Engineering, Information Technology, Management and Environment – (SUSTECH-2015) in its decked up power-packed auditorium on 28th November 2015 in association with AR Research Publication, headed by Mr. Atul Kumar Sharma and Mrs. Reshu Gupta.
