At DAVIM we promote teaching learning through various innovative methods. We started with Google Classroom in May 2019. Google Classroom is a free service for institutions and non-profit organizations offered under the Google for Education scheme. It is a user friendly module which facilitates online teacher-student interactions and distribution of learning resources like, assignments, quizzes, etc. Here the faculty can upload e-contents files or data in the following formats: ppt, pdf, doc, avi, MP4, etc. related to various subjects that are being taught in various courses. These e-content helps the students as it is prepared by the faculty keeping in mind the requirements of the students. In Google Classroom we have created-classes for all the departments and have successfully added the faculty teaching in these respective departments. Faculty can contribute in this module by using their G-MAIL-ID. Students can access this e-module using Google Classroom App on their android mobile phones. The student’s g-mail account is essential for accessing it.

ON-LINE CLASSES

At this critical time when educators around the world have been talking about the need to rethink how we are going to educate future generations, we, at DAVIM, are prepared to meet these challenges. Despite the lockdown, WE have taken timely steps to continue the flow of education by holding online classes for students. In addition to Google Classroom, we adopted various other online modes/PLATFORMS for teaching like Zoom, Webex, G-MEET, WhatsApp Groups, Emails etc. Interestingly, these online classes have helped students during lockdown more than ever before.

In October 2020, DAVIM dedicatedly adopted a platform “MICROSOFT TEAMS” in order to help the students by teaching and connecting with themonline during the pandemic. It actually came to our rescue and helped us in facilitating the teaching learning process.
Microsoft Teams is a digital hub that helps the educators in creating vibrant learning environments and collaborative classrooms that brings conversations, content, assignments, and apps together in one place.

It is time to appreciate our teaching faculty who, dealing with the anxiety of their own due to the pandemic, been putting significant efforts and time for online teaching to make sure the students are productive even at home. We conducted on-line internals also.

Now, it seems that not only this on-line activity has become an essential part of our present system at DAVIM, but the integration of information technology in education will be further accelerated and that online education will eventually become an integral component of imparting education in the years to come.

BCA: BACHELOR OF COMPUTER APPLICATIONS

About Course:

BCA is a three year regular degree course that comprises of six semesters to help students to attain proficiency of information technology. The course focuses on futuristic technologies namely Artificial Intelligence, E-commerce and Internet of Things etc. The curricula is a fusion of core course as well as advance capsule course to make our students ready for achieving placement in top most IT companies.

Eligibility:

Admission to the course shall be open to a candidate who has passed Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) from the Board of School Education, Haryana, Bhiwani/C.B.S.E. or an equivalent examination recognized by M.D. University with minimum 45% marks.

Pedagogy:

The Department focuses on Practical IT education more than just the course curriculum. We empower students through practical learning with a deep understanding of knowledge, skills and concepts. The approach to Pedagogy combines analytical training, live and open source projects with strong emphasis on concepts and theory.

Activities:

Apart from teaching and extra- curricular activities, BCA Department also organizes events such as Inter-college gaming and application development competitions, sessions on Machine Learning, Big Data, Internet of Things, Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence etc. BCA gives innovative approach to students by providing add-on programming modules by experts on latest technologies like python, SAP, PHP etc. that enhances the students’ programming skills to bridge the gap between academics and top IT industries.

The Road Ahead:

After successful completion of BCA course, students grab the job opportunities as Software Engineer, System Analyst, Software Testing Engineer, and Researchers etc. Our major recruiters are Wipro Technologies, Genpact, TCS, HCL, Tech Mahindra, Infosys etc. Students can also purse MCA/ MBA, MBA/PG diploma after successful completion of BCA degree.

B.Sc. (Hons.) Computer Science

About Course:

B.Sc. Hons. Computer science, a three years regular Professional degree programme in computers, is designed to engage students in comprehensive field of Information Technology and give them the skills to address the world’s challenges.

Eligibility:

Senior secondary Certificate (10+2) examination having subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 45% marks in aggregate from Board of School Education Haryana, Bhiwani or Any other examination recognized by M.D. University as equivalent, thereto.

Pedagogy:

We have pioneered new teaching methods, cutting-edge technology, highly-skilled academic research. Course’s excellent academic reputation, and expertise across the breadth of computer science – from traditional subjects such as C Programming and other architecture, to new interdisciplinary explorations in Cyber Crime and Security, Human Computer Interaction and Digitalization, reflects in students’ performance.

Activities:

The department organizes various activities such as IT Quiz, Gaming, App Development seminars, training sessions, minor project developments, new trends in SAP, Python , within and across academic departments. Our work and impact also transcends the boundaries between academic subjects and organizations. We strive to produce innovative, multidisciplinary work culture for our students.
