MASTER OF COMPUTER APPLICATIONS

MCA is a two year degree programme affiliated to Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak. In order to equip students to face the challenges of the corporate world during the course, the institute adopts all new teaching methodologies by imbibing the latest tools and technologies and other related resources e.g. open source systems, mini/minor projects, access to scholarly e-journals, online access to top institute libraries and case studies, presentations, seminars, paper presentation and conferences on specialized topics etc. The institute has in-house training and development cell and tie-ups with many corporate to develop analytical skills, aptitude and also conduct mock and technical test which makes the candidate more confident and competitive.

No. of seats:
The institute has 120 seats for the Programme and additional 20% of total intake plus vacant seats if any for MCA( Lateral Entry).

Eligibility of Admission:
For MCA 2 Years: Passed BCA/B.Sc.(Hons.) Computer Science/B.E. or B.Tech. (CSE/IT)/B.Voc.(Software Development/IT) or an equivalent degree with having at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates of Haryana only) in aggregate. OR Passed B.Sc./B.Com./B.A. with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduation level with having at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates of Haryana only) in aggregate, along with the students admitted with this eligibility will have to simultaneously undertake additional *bridge course as prescribed by the University during the first semester. Note: * It is compulsory for each students to pass out bridge course (three additional theory papers and one practical as prescribed in scheme of examination of bridge course) as per University norms during the 1st year of MCA-2year program. However, these papers under bridge course will be taught only in the 1st semester of the program.

For MCA Lateral Entry: Bachelor‘s degree of minimum three years duration in BCA, B.Sc. (Information Technology/Computer Science) or B.Voc. (Software Development/Information Technology) or any other examination recognized by M.D. University, Rohtak as equivalent, thereto, having 50% marks (47.50% for SC/ST candidates of Haryana only) in aggregate with Mathematics as a course at 10+2 level or at Graduate level.

Activities: For integrated development and better employability of our students , the department has introduced a number of short term certificate courses like Data Science , Machine Learning using Python , Bigdata Analytics using HADOOP , IIT Bombay spoken tutorial modules , NPTEL and SWAYAM courses , over and above the prescribed curriculum . In order to equip the students for the industry , the department regularly invites industrial / professional body members , senior academicians and also meritorious alumni.
Different extracurricular activities are also organized by the department like Induction program, Sports Day, Blood donation camps & different fests to promote national & cultural values among students.

BCA: BACHELOR OF COMPUTER APPLICATIONS

About Course:

BCA is a three year regular degree course that comprises of six semesters to help students to attain proficiency of information technology. The course focuses on futuristic technologies namely Artificial Intelligence, E-commerce and Internet of Things etc. The curricula is a fusion of core course as well as advance capsule course to make our students ready for achieving placement in top most IT companies.

Eligibility:

Admission to the course shall be open to a candidate who has passed Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) from the Board of School Education, Haryana, Bhiwani/C.B.S.E. or an equivalent examination recognized by M.D. University with minimum 45% marks.

Pedagogy:

The Department focuses on Practical IT education more than just the course curriculum. We empower students through practical learning with a deep understanding of knowledge, skills and concepts. The approach to Pedagogy combines analytical training, live and open source projects with strong emphasis on concepts and theory.

Activities:

Apart from teaching and extra- curricular activities, BCA Department also organizes events such as Inter-college gaming and application development competitions, sessions on Machine Learning, Big Data, Internet of Things, Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence etc. BCA gives innovative approach to students by providing add-on programming modules by experts on latest technologies like python, SAP, PHP etc. that enhances the students’ programming skills to bridge the gap between academics and top IT industries.

After successful completion of BCA course, students grab the job opportunities as Software Engineer, System Analyst, Software Testing Engineer, and Researchers etc. Our major recruiters are Wipro Technologies, Genpact, TCS, HCL, Tech Mahindra, Infosys etc. Students can also purse MCA/ MBA, MBA/PG diploma after successful completion of BCA degree.
